“In life, you can either accept what you are given, or you can take it by the reins and make it what you want it to be. There is ALWAYS something you can be doing to push yourself towards your destiny.” For aspiring international singer-songwriter Timorris Lane, these are words to live by.

At the tender age of 8, after realizing his love for the piano, Timorris’ parents began his classical training in his hometown of Cleveland, OH.  Simultaneously, he began his ten-year career singing and performing with the Cleveland Boy’s Choir.  As a dedicated memBEr, he performed at many prominent venues, including the White House.  He also performed the National Anthem at a numBEr of Cleveland Cavalier’s basketball games and Cleveland Indian’s baseball games. Throughout middle school and high school, Timorris also played piano for his church. Here he learned to express emotion through music by playing for the one he loves most, God.

After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School, Timorris enrolled at Kenyon College, a liBEral arts school in Ohio, where he BEgan his language studies of Japanese, French, Spanish and Arabic. “I always figured that if I wanted to BE an international artist, I would have to really connect with my fans on a deeper level, and to me that meant doing so in their own language.” Here he also BEgan his acting career, playing the leading role of Oedipus in the musical, The Gospel At Colonus. After receiving his college degree, Timorris continued towards his dream of singing.  He moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to learn the ins and outs of the music industry.

Timorris often attributes his tough skin to Atlanta, saying, “It’s there where I got my tough skin BEcause it’s full of singers and if you’re not SANGING, they let you know it. Today, I am proud to say that I can sang.”  Once in Atlanta, Timorris BEgan recording Youtube videos with his brother, Stephen Lane.  After receiving high numbers of views, they decided to form the R&B singing group, Lanes.  In 2009, Lanes released a mini album entitled, Lanes (Mini-LP)on iTunes and they BEgan performing at many venues throughout Georgia, including weekly performances at P. Diddy’s restaurant Justin’s. Lanes even received radio play in European countries such as Croatia and Austria, letting them know that international opportunities were viable.

With Lanes on the rise, Timorris was able to express his artistry in other ways, through acting and modeling. He starred in the independent film, “Misconception” and had a role in “Why Am I Not Married”.  He also did runway for Sean John, Jordan and many others. BEcause of these experiences, Timorris chose to make the move to Los Angeles, California.

In 2011, immediately after moving to Los Angeles, Timorris hit the ground running with the release of his first solo mini album entitled, Timorris EP, which contains songs such as his popular piano ballad, “One Day,” his emotionally powerful, “Unwanted” and his motivating anthem, “Holding On.” “Since moving to Los Angeles, I have been very fortunate to meet and work with great people such as David Foster, Rod Stewart, Lilias White and many more,” Timorris says. “Now, I’m even more inspired and back in the studio to record even more. I BElieve my fans should always see progression and growth in anything and everything that I release.”

Today, while Timorris is preparing for the release of his upcoming mixtape entitled, Love is All We Need,” he is also preparing to relocate to New York City.  “While I will miss Los Angeles, I am really excited for this next chapter in my life.  This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see you soon,” Timorris says. “The mixtape will feature popular covers such as Justin Timberlake’s, ‘Suit and Tie,’ and The Wanted’s, ‘Glad You Came.’ I wanted to release covers of songs that I personally enjoy listening to.  With this mixtape, I want my supporters and new listeners to get to know me and feel the place that I am in at this point in my life.”  The mixtape will also feature exclusive unreleased original music, including his French song, “Mon Amour,” and his Japanese song, “Sayonara.”

Whether on the piano in the studio writing new music or performing on stage, Timorris Lane is not stopping until he reaches his goal of BEcoming an international sensation.
