Leather belt strap bikinis, lace decals taped onto the chins of models, and face forming hats were the highlights of Lee Jean Youn’s fall/winter 2014 collection. Models wore heels with three-inch spikes coming out from all directions on the shoe. Sheer materials overwhelmed the faces and bodies of models. Boxy, oversized boyfriend jackets in plaid and velvet paired with thigh high socks were seen down the runway. Denim jackets studded with metal, even a full denim gown with studded embellishment made its way down the runway.
The makeup evoked a serious ‘60’s feel. With overstretched thick black winged liner and bottom lash lines lined with gold shadow, and lips kept naturally pink. Hair was parted in the middle then kept to one side and slightly curled. Some models sported pieces of lace adhesive stretching from one ear, around the chin, and to the other ear. These pieces of lace matched the lace the models were wearing. The face lace created a shock and drama to the collection definitely. Some other models had smaller pieces of lace adhered to the cheek bone/temple area of the face. This looked more wearable, but still very dramatic.
