Detroit rapper Big Sean has BEen patiently awaiting for June 28th the get here for what most would say equals years, and while that may BE an exaggerated stretch, he has BEen prepping his career since 2005 & has seemed ready for his debut album shortly there-after. Following the release of several mixtapes, features, and now a numBEr 1 single (featuring Chris Brown), Sean Michael Anderson is only hours away from the release of his debut album Finally Famous…The Album, which is BEing released under G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam.
While listening to Finally Famous, you might find yourself drawing lots of comparisons BEtween Sean & heavy hitting artists like Drake, Wiz Khalifa, and of course his bossman Kanye West, but even after all of the similarities, Big Sean still has located his own lane & has no plans of just sitting comfortably next to other artists…no matter how Drake “songy” and/or Kanye-swagged out. Sean has a very playful flow, referencing a numBEr of cartoons and other “kiddish” entities, which can BE heard on songs like “I Do It” (which is slated to BE Big Sean’s second single); “My crew is who I’d be widdy-be-wid-it/Rose I sippity-sip-it/I’m Quagmire I f*ck hoes/My cashflow I giggity-giggity it”…and also on “Dem Girls” which features rap trio Travis Porter “Do not stop with them shots, gimme/Ciroc, Vodka, if not Henny/Quit talkin’ I’m off it, I’m of it, retard, Timmy…” But don’t get it twisted thinking Big Sean makes music for the kids; he has an abundance of lyrical flow and a strong mouthpiece that spits out some of the craziest rhymes you’ll ever hear.
Last night, Big Sean made his BIG award show debut, performing “My Last” on the 2011 BEt Awards in Los Angeles along side Chris Brown (last year he was featured during G.O.OD. Music’s Cypher). Fans thought Sean was opening up on the pre-show, but Sean quickly settled those rumors with the facts that he’d BE on the main show and would make his grandmother back in Michigan very proud.
Check out the performance BElow & make sure you support GOOD Music by picking up a few copies of Finally Famous…The Album when it hits iTunes and store shelves tomorrow. #DoIT
