Genki has BEcome known for its reasonably priced, delicious Asian fusion cuisine, signature cocktails and casually upscale atmosphere.  Opening its doors in Buckhead more than 14 years ago this amazing place offers 3 great locations; Buckhead, Sandy Springs, the Virginia Highland with each location specially designed to reflect the personality of their historic neighborhood.

Our particular location of review was the Virginia Highlands which offered an amazing patio view where we got the chance to greet the neighborhood locals as well as take in the amazing weather. A quick review of the menu suggested a wide array of tastes and of anything imaginable. Ranging from traditional Japanese cuisine and customized dishes for the location. The chefs who oversee the sushi bar come from a variety of backgrounds and bring many different elements of their artistry to each dish. The servers are equally knowledgeable of the chef’s creations. Aside from the amazing food and incredible staff; they offer a wide variety of specialty cocktails which accompany any dish perfectly.

Genki goes above and BEyond the usual, offering innovative combinations.  Favorites include the new Virginia-Highland roll, Snapping Samurai roll, BEef, spinach and mushroom bowl served  over rice, and Yakisoba – stir fried ramen noodles with thinly-sliced beef, carrots and shredded cabbage, sprinkled with nori and red ginger. Genkatsu, Katsu Don, Unatama Don, and Kaisen Don are among the new traditional bowls available at all three Genki locations.

Our particular menu selection at Virginia Highland was heightened by the knowledge and personality of our amazing server.  The dishes included Virginia Highland -Pineapple, cucumber, and avocado, topped with tuna and ahi poki ; UNAGI – Grilled Freshwater Eel; ALASKAN -Snow crab salad with spinach and cucumber; YAKISOBA – Stir-fried ramen noodles with thinly-sliced grilled beef and shredded cabbage, sprinkled with nori and served with red ginger with a side of Japanese mayonnaise; HAMACHI KAMA – A Japanese delicacy marinated and grilled yellowtail cheek, served with ponzu sauce.

Genki offers many “Playful drinks” for its patrons. The drinks not only accompany the meals along with the seasons. Some of their most popular cocktails include: Genki’s signature margarita, the Yuzu Margarita; the Mango Tini, and the Tao Tini, Ninja Juice, Stoli Razberi.

The entire visit was one to BE remeBEred. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was one that would certainly welcome you back and the staff was certainly warm, sincere, knowledgeable and welcoming.

Please BE sure to take a visit to your nearest Genki Sushi and Noodle location.
