BE-Style: A Flawless Face with Patrice Story

Allow me to BE the first to welcome and introduce our new cosmetics ‘go to gal’ …. Patrice Story is making her mark in the industry by creating beautiful visual images with a women’s face as her canvas.

In the city of Atlanta, Patrice is growing her presence with the wide use of referrals from previous and current clients that have embraced her as a woman of great skill. She has been able to enhance the natural beauty of women as well as created artist and dramatic works. For these reasons, I contacted Patrice for insight on the best way to present yourself this spring.

BE-Style: What are the new colors trends for spring? (i.e. lipsticks & glosses, eye shadows, a bronzer, and blushes)
PS: Bright hues seems to be the color trend for this spring for eye shadows. I’ve noticed a lot of orange tones or corals, vegetable and pastel colors, jewel tones, gold/copper tones and when mixed with rich brown shades, it can create an awesome smokey eye. Also, you still can not go wrong with the neutral tones.
Want to create a soft natural looks for those cheeks, well the color that’s popping up this spring are soft pink or peachy colors which can easily compliment any skin tones. Want a more neutral look then you can’t go wrong with a matte based bronzer and if you want that extra glow try a illuminating bronzer on your cheeks or all over for the perfect summer glow.
Lipsticks and glosses also change tones during the warmer season. No more dark shades. It’s time to spring out those bright colors such as corals, fuchsias, pinks reds, and berry tones. Also, with the glosses we’re seeing more sheen than shimmer and more matte or glossy looks for your lips.

BE-Style: What are your favorite primers and lightweight foundation for the warm season?
PS: My favorite Primer would have to be Laura Mercie and very little goes a long ways. My favorite lightweight Primer would have to be MUFE face and body, and Bobby Brown’s Skin Foundation. If you want an even more sheer coverage, I would also recommend Laura Mercie tinted moisturizer or the Smash Box BB Cream, which is also a tinted moisturizer.

BE-Style: What are some major “don’t” for spring application?
PS: DO NOT use makeup that does not matches your skin complexion. DO NOT apply a heavy foundation application during the day. Its just way to hot. DO NOT use oil based products on oily skin which is just going to make you even oilier.  DO NOT apply moisturizer or primer before you even wash your face.

BE-Style: List (3) great warm season makeup essentials?
PS: Moisturizer, Lip gloss, and a bronzer are definite essentials for the purse or makeup bag.

BE-Style: Should one apply as much brow and eyeliner during the warmer season as they would for winter months?
PS: There is no rule that states you should wear brow or eyeliner differently in the warmer season. I would just suggest using a brow gel to keep your brows in place and a water proof eyeliner to keep your eyeliner from smudging. This will ensure a flawless face during moments of perspiration.
