BErtell – Redefining Music

bertell_interview_b

What you see isn’t always what you get & singer/songwriter BErtell Young fits that exact definition. From first sight, one may get the notion that when BErtell touches the mic, he’s going to explode on the rap tip, but when he opens his mouth to blow a note, you quickly see why he’s not only stamped by super producer Bryan Michael Cox, but also why he’s Capitol Records’ shining star.

“I asked my mom to drop me off at the Greyhound station. I called her three days later and she was like ‘What’s this weird number in my caller ID?’ I said, ‘Mom, I’m in New Jersey.’ So I talked to her for about twenty minutes, trying to sound excited. Then I hung up and thought, ‘Damn, now what am I gonna do?’ I had nowhere to stay─ no family, no friends, nothing in New Jersey. I slept in Newark Penn Station for four days. Then I had to figure out as a man what I was doing with my life.”

It’s apparent that BErtell didn’t allow what most would regard as the dark tunnel to warp his vision of BEing the BEst. His experiences have led him to Atlanta, Georgia where he’s BEen very well respected for his craft as a full fledged musician. He has an amazing team BEhind him, which parallels his talent full throttle.

BErtell is by no means shy, and loves to jump in any conversation about music. Check out what he had to say about DJs.
