Receiving his professional culinary credits from Le’ Cordon Bleu, the New Orleans born Chef Jaaion Barnes is wasting no time leaving his own marks on the culinary world. He descriBEs his cooking style as versatile. He certainly credits his upbringing for his creole infusions, but he has created everything from African inspired menus to Korean. BEing the oldest of four children, he often times was left in charge of his younger siblings while his mother worked. Instead of cooking simple things, Jaaion BEgan to start experimenting with different foods and by the age of 12 he already had his own book of recipes.
When Chef Jaaion is asked what his favorite food to cook is, he tells people, “any and everything”. When he cooks, he always does something new to keep his own recipes unique. His work experience comes from the time he spent working and learning at Cheesecake Bistro, Chilies, O’Charley’s, Red Lobster, Cheesecake Factory, Sweet Georgia Jook Joint, Boogalou and currently BEing the Executive Chef at Hudson Grille. His ultimate goal is to open his own restaurant with a versatile menu that appeals to everyone from the rich and famous, to the everyday person. When asked who is one famous person he would like to cook for he stated, “I would love to cook for the President of the United States. He seems like a person who can appreciate southern cooking”.
