About Donald Gray Writer/Director
Donald Gray is a native of Woodleaf, North Carolina. He started his entertainment career at a very young age in his grandmother’s church. After returning from college at Fayetteville State, he BEgan his career by writing short stories and poetry. Derived from his writings came his heart-touching play 911 Lord Save My Child. Donald is also the writer and director of Christmas N Da Hood. It opened in DecemBEr of 1996 in Salisbury, North Carolina and has BEen touring up to present.
Donald has shared the stage with stars such as Clifton Powell, Kym Whitley, Reynoldo Rey and artists like Kenny Lattimore, Chante Moore, Karen Clark, Douglas Miller and many more. He has toured with many national plays including A Good Man Is Hard To Find. Other credits are Lord, I’m Coming Home, Can You Help My Child, Where is My Father, A Clean House, The Real Meaning of Christmas, My Grandmother Prayed For Me, Why Do I Keep Choosing The Wrong Man, and Things That Lovers Do. And now he’s back with The Man of Her Dreams.
Donald is the proud father of a BEautiful daughter, Sierra Gray. Sierra is very much like her dad, and he tries to BE a father that makes her proud. Currently, Donald teaches drama classes at the West Rowan YMCA. His favorite quote is: “When praises go up, blessings come down.”Tweet
