Real Housewives of Atlanta star and former member of Xscape, Kandi Burruss celebrated 1 year of business for her clothing boutique, TAGS just a few nights ago just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. The event was packed, though none of her housewives castmates were present. Drinks were flowing courtesy of Conjure Cognac, her boutique co-partner Peaches Chin and Kandi herself, of course. In a rare celebrity move, Kandi made herself very accessible to friends and fans alike and encouraged her partygoers to celebrate and dance. At her request, the party picked up the pace and I am sure every TAGS and Kandi supporter in the boutique went home happy. Check out the pics below. TAGS features urban chiq clothing usually at $100 or less. Insiders on housewives say expect TAGS to get some attention on the show later this season. As the producers preferred to focus on Lisa Wu Hartwell and Sheree Whitfield‘s fashion ambitions while focusing on Kandi’s music.
Burruss, the famed co-writer of such hits as TLC‘s “No Scrubs” and Destiny’s Child‘s “Bills, Bills, Bills,” returns to Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “Leave U.” Her album, Kandi Koated, is due to release on Kandi Koated/Asylum/Warner Bros December 14th. In addition to Jazze Pha‘s production on, “Leave U,” the album features production by Bryan-Michael Cox (“Give It to You”) and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League (“I Want You”) and Ne-Yo (“Me and You”). Fellow Xscape alumna and rapper T.I.‘s wife. Tameka “Tiny” Cottle delivers the set’s only feature on “Superwoman.” She also said she has worked on a second song with Kim Zolciak after “Tardy for the Party.” But there will reportedly be tension over monetary compensation on Housewives episodes to come. To top it all off, Kandi will begin a 30-city trek and promotional tour with Fantasia Nov. 4 in Richmond, Va., and ending Jan. 1, 2011, in St. Louis. She will return to Atlanta November 11 at the Fox Theatre.
