Kanye West “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”

After deciding to go on a hiatus from the public after last year’s MTV Video Music Awards mishap Kanye West has taken time to think about his mistakes and allow his creative genius to take the world by storm once again, with his highly-anticipated new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The thirteen-track album was released yesterday, November 22, 2010 and ever since stores have opened they have been flying off the shelves.

Yeezy teased the world earlier this year when he released the song “Power” featuring Dwele on background vocals this past summer. The song ‘s rhythmic beat and artistic punch lines was just what the summer needed from Ye. The buzz on blogs quickly grew after hearing that he was back in the studio working with big name producers such as Bink, NO I.D, and RZA just to name a few. When the roughly two minute “Power” portrait [because he said its not a music video] debuted on MTV, Kanye fed the world just a bit more to satisfy the hunger yet inadvertently making us all hungrier.

Not too much later the single “Monster” featuring Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and  a red-hot verse from Nicki Minaj was released and they bars they were spitting had your head bobbin from beginning to end. His third single “Runaway” featuring Pusha T (of The Clipse), he debuted at this years VMAs and from then on it was solidified …he was back! Ye then decided to reward his followers by announcing via his twitter account that he would be releasing a track every week to what became known as “G.O.O.D Fridays”. The next visionary project Kanye embarked upon was shooting and directing a thirty-five minute mini movie for the song “Runaway” co-starring model Selita Ebanks as the phoenix he fell in love with. The mini movie with short snippets gave its audience a sample of his album with the songs “Dark Fantasy”, “Gorgeous”, “All of the Lights”, “Devil in a New Dress”, “Hell of a Life”, “Lost in the World” and “Who Will Survive in America,” while still telling a story at the same time. After being able to take a listen to the album I feel that Kanye has out done himself once again and produced some of his BEst work yet! Every song has its own raw melodic and hypnotizing beat that will captivate your attention. He uses his mind to produce something original, which we all can appreciate. He has such features on the album that compliment his artistry very well with the musical talents that weren’t mentioned above that include Alicia Keys, Bon Iver, Chris Rock, Elton John, Fergie, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Raekwon, Rihanna and Teyanna Taylor. The album is definitely a must-have to your own personal musical collection.
