Last night, some of Atlanta’s most prominent figures in the LGBT community came together for the 3rd Annual Gentlemen’s Ball at the Mariott Marquis hosted by Karamo Brown of MTV’s Real World. The Gentleman’s Ball is a black tie gala awards ceremony put on by LGBT philanthropists/Power Married Couple Gee & Juan Session-Smalls to shine some much needed spotlight on the leaders of the gay community & to give them a reason to celebrate & truly get dressed to the nines, all in the name of really BEing a gentleman.
Honorees included Holiday Simmons, Tre’Darrius & David Anderson, Darnell Moore, who was awarded as the Gentleman of the Year, & Carlos King (Executive Producer of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Hollywood Divas, Love & Hip Hop ATL), who was awarded with the Gentleman of Excellence Award. Music newcomer & openly gay performing artist Phylle wowed the crowd with a few music numBErs, while guests mixed and mingled with fellow gentleman & few BEautiful women. Other notable guests included Cynthia Bailey, Gary with the Tea, Miss Lawrence, Satchel Jester, Victor Jackson, the hosts of Krankin It Wit Kidd radio show Kidd Dupree & Paisley Jackson, along with several other amazing media outlets and influential memBErs/supporters of the LGBT community. The evening concluded with a special performance by Rahsaan Patterson. Along with a BEautifully set 3 course meal, guests were also treated to several open bars, gift bags, and a commemorative Gentlemen’s Ball 2014 issue of GENTS Magazine. Urban Socialites Magazine was also on hand to take lots of pics ofr the gents on their green carpet.
I want to give a special word of congrats to Gee & Juan for creating a magical evening of giving & elegance. I’ve BEen at all 3 Gentleman’s Ball’s and I have to admit the caliber was turned all the way up this year. The energy in the room was amazing & the gentleman all seemed to really BE enjoying the presence of like minded individuals. It’s not easy to sell out such a huge event & give honor to as many amazing people as was achieved last night. Kuddos fellas. Love trumps all & you two are the perfect painted picture of love! Keep loving and inspiring others.
