As consumers fight the forces of “Mother Nature” during the Winter months, grappling with their overcoats and whispering wishes of the wonderful spring temperatures; designers are releasing sneak peeks into their SS14 collections. Sometimes it feels like sensory overload, with experiencing amazing runway shows of Internationale Fashion Weeks, now the insiders are gifted the look books as to what made it off the runway, across the chopping room floors, and will BE available at retailers.
Following the announcement of Sky Ferreira as the face of Maison Kitsuné Spring/Summer 2014, the French fashion label has released the lookbook for its “New Wave” themed collection, inspired by New York’s young creatives, artists, and musicians.
Captured by Henrik Purienne, fashion photographer, filmmaker and founder of Mirage magazine, this lookbook features provocative model/actress Sky Ferreira, it-girl Heather Boo and Johnny Pierce of The Drums. Sharing a passion for music, individuality, and life in the big city, the trio spends a day wandering through Chinatown, strolling down Broadway and gathering at the NoMad Hotel which houses the Maison Kitsuné New York boutique.
Styled by Jennifer Eymère of French Jalouse magazine, the looks are timeless-yet-fashionable, with structured volumes, bold colors, and a Parisian street chic twist.
