Tupac’s THUG LIFE mentality was definitely present at his 40th Birthday Celebration last night held at Atlanta’s Symphony Hall. Artists like Rick Ross, Warren G, Bun B, The Outlawz, Too Short, DJ Drama, 8 Ball & MJG, and even Erykah Badu all came together to celebrate the life and the times of the late great Tupac. Outsiders looking in probably loved what seemed to BE a easy going/flowing show, but media on the “inside” looking out have a completely different story to tell.
I’m not sure what it is, or if the heat has everything (with events & publicists) going haywire, but this was one of the worst operated events I’ve ever attended. Names that were credentialed weren’t on the list, the publicist doing the credentialing never showed up, the publicist on deck hand picked which media outlets got major coverage and which ones got ignored pretty much the entire night…and we were made to wait in a long hallway (hoping on a mere dream of interviewing Erykah Badu…who quickly whizzed past us little waiting media right on to the stage) while the entire show played in our ears. The staff was rude, security was rude, and it was just plain unorganized! Radio DJ’s and personalities from one of the major hip hop stations didn’t even get in & angrily stormed out. Erykah Badu did at least rip the stage & funny man/host Mike Epps kept the entire crowd in stitches all night (I did sneak my way in to get my BEsties…yup my readers, so good footage of Mike Epps & Erykah Badu…so ENJOY!!)
Time is money people…we don’t play with either of yours, so RESPECT both of ours!!!!! (ps…I’m not GOING IN, but enough is enough & too much is too much! I refuse to work as hard as I do & remain as polite as I am, only to BE disregarded and/or played in the process!)Tweet
