BE Magazine was invited to attend the STOP Trafficking of People Fundraiser
Event at the O’Marche – The GloBE Showroom in the Garment District of New
York City. The goal of the event was to build awareness of the alarmingly high
numBEr of human trafficking that is plaguing the world. The event included a
Cocktail Hour, Fashion Show and live Jazz Band. Hosted by United Nations
Ambassador of France Mr. Francois Delattre the event was filled with supporters
like Mrs Dina Kawar Ambassador of Jordan to the United Nations, Fashion
Designers Alexia Klein, Catherine Malandrino, NorBErt Akou and many more.
STOP which is an acronym for Special Trafficking Operations Program was
founded by Celhia De Lavarene. Her organization intends to break the vicious
cycle of sex trafficking. According to traffickingresourcecenter.org year to date in
the United States there were 11,001 calls about Human Trafficking and 2,795
Human Trafficking case reported with majority of them BEing sex trafficking.
Labor and Sex trafficking is a global epidemic and everyone needs to help!
