When conversing with colleagues on designers of the time that always create with their client’s ability to BE comfortable, effortless, and chic – I immediately think of Carolina Herrera. She remains at the forefront of the design world bringing us continuous wearable fashions that grace every red carpet, magazine cover, as well as drapes the shoulders of an every day fashionistas. During these years New York Fashion Week, the collection was nothing short of sex appeal, grace, and pure elegance…..
Carolina Herrera presented black and navy over-sized coats and two-piece suits made for an original collection. Geometric shapes made into patterns on garments were very popular for Carolina Herrera’s fall/winter 2014 collections. Texture was emphasized in this collection with fur, flannel, and wool all coming together to make a perfect runway look complete with elbow length gloves. Asymmetry, geometry, and tribal prints in surprising dusk pink, wine, mint green, and turquoise made for an eclectic collection, not to mention the punch of coral and bright reds.
Models wore their hair in extra thick topknot buns and these interesting cylinder top hats. Models had on a light nude toned eye shadow on their eyelids and strong, defined brows. The bottom lash lines seemed to be lined with a light brown pencil. Lips were pretty in pink and the entire face kept natural.
