#Oscars2014: BEst Dressed Men of the Red Carpet

This year’s Oscars have BEen amazing. Amazing describes both the yays and nays of the Red Carpet and stage. With many interesting looks, the classic tuxedo look is always a winner. Applauds definitely goes to viewer’s favorites Tyson Beckford in Ralph Lauren; Mario Lopez wearing a J. Lindeberg tuxedo, YSL tie, and John Varvatos shoes; and John Legend wearing yellow gold white diamond button cufflinks and yellow gold white diamond lapel button hole both from the Gentleman Collection by David Thomas and Jason of Beverly Hills – for gracing the carpet with the always appealing gentlemen’s tuxedo. I must also applaud what I have always thought was a bold statement, cream and white! I know that’s a “classic” to many people but I have always thought of the match up to BE stale and tasteless. That brings me to my point of applauding Ryan Seacrest in Burberry, Jared Leto weraing Saint Laurent with a Piaget watch, and Matthew McConaughey in Dolce & Gabanna. These gentlemen gave me a new perspective on the cream and white match up which is what fashion entails. True fashion changes opinions. They certainly changed mine. Another must applaud is Pharell Williams. Pharell gets my applaud for not only being himself but also creating quite a stir up in social media as it pertains to his fashion choices. There were clear cut lines drawn in how everyone felt on his look. Pharell took over the red carpet when he showed up looking like a mixture of Greats Gatsby and Leave It To Beaver with a timeless, boy next door blazer and bow tie combination with dress shorts – all by Lanvin. Even more so, he stirred up more talk with his even bigger Vivienne Westwood hat during his HAPPY performance. Pharell’s style will forever remain misunderstood with some of the world but his controversial and unique wardrobe gets nothing but praise from me. I must also give respect to Ellen DeGeneres wearing three different tuxedos by Saint Laurent. She may not be an actual man but she definitely showed up giving them a run for their money. But honestly I can’t say any men were a mess. The men left the mess to the women. A round of applause for all the men on last night’s Red Carpet.
