Many dream of the day when their lifelong aspirations finally are realized as a designer to present a collection at New York Fashion Week. Acclaimed designers work diligently to offer industry insiders, the fashion conscious celebs, and buyers the preview of what’s to come in upcoming seasons. Friend & Atlanta based designer, KL Allen realized his dreams as he debuted it’s new Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Titled “Le Casse-Tête,” which means “The Puzzle” at the Metropolitan Pavilion this past September 8th, 2012 in New York.
As the show began, I easily BEcame overwhelmed to bare witness to the growth and this young talent. “Le Casse-Tête” was inspired by 1960’s MOD fashion with use of color blocking with bright neon colors. Perfect Population continued with its flare for sexy with techniques reminiscent of the Hervè Lerger bondage dress. KL presented a collection of asymmetrical silhouettes and daring cutouts but the cutouts were covered with sheer fabric this seasons. The textiles used in this collection were rayon, polyester/spandex blends, matte satin and silk chiffon for the finale gown. Looks were paired with translucent 1960’s inspired eye wear, colorful silk scarves, metal metro cuffs sponsored by (DesignHype) www.DesignHypeinc.com and Eink Signature Gloves by Eink Signature.
Special thanks to KL‘s publicist, Jackie Bush of G.J & J Public Relations Firm for BEing such a huge force and supporter of a young mans dream and humble host to BE Magazine.
