BE ENTERTAINED MAGAZINE: YOU’RE HOME IN ATLANTA BEING HONORED WITH A DIAMOND AWARD, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE GETTING THIS AWARD?
RAVEN SYMONÉ: It feels great. I think this foundation and organization is amazing. I think that he put together a wonderful event so far, and all of the people involved. It really shows that we care about what’s going on in the community and knowing that we need to come together as a people to really help with the healthcare aspect along with everything else as well.
BE MAG: YOU’RE A HUGE ADVOCATE FOR KIDS, TELL OUR READERS WHY THAT HITS SO CLOSE TO HOME FOR YOU.
RS: [laughs] BEcause everyone was a kid once, and we all needed help, and we still need help, whether we’re a kid or not.
BE MAG: YOU’VE BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME, AND WE’VE SEEN THE BUSINESS SIDE OF RAVEN, BUT WHAT’S CHILL RAVEN LIKE? WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE, DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE DJ?
RS: I listen to a lot of world music actually. I love the radio, but I don’t really listen to that radio a lot. I listen to a lot of mixtapes and different broadcasts and things of that nature so, I can name my list of Michelle N’Degeocello, I’m a really big fan. I like Nina Simone, a group from Denmark called Suspect, so there’s a lot of things that I listen to.
