She was already internationally known just by her nationality and heritage alone. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana & of Haitian descendant Dawn Richard has BEen around the world and back twice with two super groups… Danity Kane & Diddy-Dirty Money. But that is only half the reason we are giving her an international spotlight of her own in BE Entertained Magazine. Now taking her career to new heights the newly Baltimore resident has fans from all over the world talking about her blog, mixtape, and even her Animated graphic novel titled “Danity Kane”.
With her crave for fashion on her blog, she has shown and taught many of us all about her international side of dress. On her blog you can find her recent favorites from around the world in fashion from the amazing Daphne Guinness, which is where Dawn got her newest hairstyle inspiration from. She gives us insight on the many different fashions such as Maison Martin Margiela whose boxed styled clothing had me in wonders.
If you attended the recent Diddy Dirty Money Coming Home Tour then you may rememBEr some of the outfits from one of Dawn’s previous blogs where she states:
“SO I HAD TO GIVE YALL THE INSIDE SCOOP ON THE DIRTY MONEY FASHION FOR THE COMING HOME TOUR…WHO NEEDS COSTUMES WHEN YOU CAN JUST GRAB ALTUZARRA AND HAKAAN SPRING 2011 COLLECTIONS WE NEEDED OUR STYLE TO MATCH THE ENERGY OF THE SHOW.. SLEEK AND COOL, BUT PROGRESSIVE GET INTO IT”.
Now that is just the international fashion side of the lovely Dawn Richard. Let’s move onto her graphic novel that just came out with its 3rd and final installment early this week. If you are fans of hers, like I am, then you may know the story BEhind the graphic novel (which was once coined as a comic book) and how it came about, but if not here is a brief summary to catch you up to speed on the electrifying Japanese animated graphic novel, “Danity Kane”. Well as Dawn stated, it started out as BEing an animi character she drew during high school and now it as stuck with her by BEcoming the title of the awesome graphic novel by Dawn herself. If you want to know more about “Danity Kane” the graphic novel then go to http://www.eigomanga.com/danity/#/home/ and read up.
Even her mixtape, blog, and not to mention the Last Train to Paris album which has international swag written all over it from the cover of the cd itself all the way to the BEginning of her own blog even BEfore you get to the actual thing itself. If you go to her blog (www.dawnrichardblog.com) you will see her with a suitcase like she is coming or going to London, New York, Paris, or LA. If that isn’t enough she has a video BElow of herself explaining about all the places she has BEen. In the very BEginning of the video she starts by saying, “London, Paris (Pa’rie), Germany, the Ukraine, I’ve BEen everywhere man”. And that is why she is our International Spotlight for this jetsetting International Issue XXXI BEcause Ms. Dawn Richard is all over the world.
