Opening Night at the 15th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival seemed like a family reunion with Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Mario Van Peebles, Giancarlo Esposito & more hitting the red carpet for the world premier of Nelson George & Diane Paragas’ documentary Brooklyn Boheme. Brooklyn Boheme is an ode to the famed borough, taking an in-depth personal look at Brooklyn’s past & present talent. The film is descriBEd as a “love letter to Brooklyn”.
Maxwell (Singer), Meeka Claxton (Basketball Wives), Egypt Sherrod (Radio/TV Personality), Stephen Hill (BET), the Horne Brothers (Directors), Qasim Basir (Director), Marlo Hampton (Reality TV Star), and more were among the guests that attended the premier & post screening Q&A moderated by culture critic Michaela Angela Davis.
