From Fringe to African prints, oh my!
BE Entertained Magazines very own Jason Dinsmore sat down for a candid interview with stylist and fashion enthusiast Constance White. Constance provided the lens for an inside view on her outlook on fashion. Constance took us on a journey from the roaring twenties to the boldness of the 1970’s. This history lesson provided how fashion is heavily influenced by the African American culture. From the fringe of the 20’s to the bold African American prints of the 70’s, African Americans will continue to influence and inspire the designers who continue to shake up the fashion world with their mesmerizing designs. Designers such as LaQuan Smith (one to watch for), Alexander Wang, B. Michael, Tahari (who is celebrating 40 years in the fashion industry), and legends Karl Lagerfeld and the witty and over the top John Paul Gaultier, continue to BE inspired by African Americans! Wow! Who would’ve thought!
Constance stated that after a long boring and weary winter, it’s time for spring to show its lovely face! Spring 2014 will see bright and bold colors such as cobalt blue, orange, and pink. Ladies, ladies, ladies, break out those vintage bomber jackets and get ready to pair it with tea length skirts, jumpsuits, and rompers! Spring will not BE spring without florals! Expect to see florals, florals, and more florals this season as well!
