Mississippi rapper Tikko (Duece Tre Entertainment) is on the rise & has recently BEen said to have “the fastest tongue in the south”. Tikko sat down with BE to chop it up about his personal style.
WHAT’S YOUR DEFINITION OF STYLE?
Style, to me, is the flavor you present that sets you apart from others.
HOW DOES HIP HOP AND STYLE CROSS EACH OTHER IN YOUR WORLD?
Hip Hip and style directly correlate in my world BEcause in hip hop, you have to BE different and set apart from others to stand out and draw an audience.
IF WE TOURED YOUR CLOSET, WHAT WOULD WE FIND?
If you toured my closet you’d find a variety of garments. I can dress to hang on a street corner or dress to walk into an executive meeting.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CURRENT STATE OF STYLE IN HIP HOP?
I feel that every individual brings something to the table with their own individuality in hip hop.
WERE YOU A STYLISH KID GROWING UP?
I would say so, my grandmother put me in Gucci BEfore I knew what it was, or that it was “designer.” I just rememBEr seeing the double G’s on my sweaters! Lol!
WHAT’S A STYLE IN HOP HOP YOU WOULD GET RID OF?
I wouldn’t “get rid” of any style in hip hop, there’s no good without evil, no dark without light. There are some styles I wouldn’t present or represent personally myself, but to each it’s own.
ARE THERE ANY PAST ERAS IN STYLE THAT YOU WOULD PRESENTLY BRING BACK TO HIP HOP?
I’d bring back the 90’s era BEcause I’m an 80’s baby and that’s what I came up seeing. But on another note, history always repeats itself, I always see styles come and go and reemerge.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU WORKING ON?
I recently released my EP entitled “ReSIPProcation.” on Livemixtapes, iTunes, Google Play & all the music formats.
HOW CAN THE FANS STAY CONNECTED TO YOU AND YOUR WORK?
