HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE JEWELRY BUSINESS?
I begin hand making and selling Jewelry during my time as a college student. At the time I was working four jobs and enrolled as a full time college student paying for school out of packet. I always had a unique sense of style. I would go to class wearing chip bag earrings that I had made, necklace with fruit slices, or sunglasses with sweets on the sides. Many of my colleagues admired the jewelry that I wore and wanted me duplicate the items that I had to their personal taste. During one particular semester I had worked long hours only to find my funds short to purchase my college text books. So I took my peers offers and begin to hand make accessories and sold them. That semester I made just enough money to purchase my text books. I than realized how much I enjoyed selling my items as well as seeing how happy my customers were when purchasing and wearing my items. It was such a gratifying feeling. My handmade jewelry was becoming popular. In a blink of an eye Sweetie’s Jewelry Box was born and became a life of it’s on.

The list goes on…
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS THAT ASPIRE TO START THEIR OWN COMPANIES?
I believe in my Lord and savior Jesus Christ I could not have gotten this far without his help: 1. If you really have a dream or vision write it down and begin to actually work on it. 2. Keep positive people around you at all times. Your “circle of friends” has a strong impact on your vision they can make or break what you are trying to do. 3. When seeking advice remembers this is your dream your vision do not let anyone tell you that you can’t or you won’t. Make sure the person that is giving you advice is of wise counsel and means you well. 4. Do not jump into a business to make fast money. Really take the time to write the pros and cons as to why you are creating a business, if the bad outweighs the good rethink your options. 5. Everyone has a season do not look left or right to see how the other person is doing. Always stay focus on your path and be patient your harvest will come in due time.
