As we embark on what’s known as the season for April showers, nothing suits a wardrobe better than SWIMS protective apparel. The Galosh is the birth child of Norwegian native, Johan R. After tumultuous time roaming the streets of Europe and the frost bitten extremes of the New York streets, Johan decided to turn his uncomfortable footwear experiences into an amazing brand of water resistant apparel to include protective slip covers for men and women shoes, umbrellas, and rain coats. To keep with the momentum of our BEMagazine’s Men’s Issue, currently in print, BE-Style brings you the menswear collection available from SWIMS – The Modern Galosh!

I had the amazing opportunity to converse with designer, a true innovator, and creative genius, Corey Woods. On Saturday, November 12, 2011, I had the opportunity to experience THE paramount shopping experience to date: Chic Boutique Tours (CBT). CBT is the ultimate shopping experience created by Rosalynn Wilson. The idea of CBT is to allow women of different backgrounds and lifestyles to come together, socialize, network, shop, eat, and BE merry in STYLE, and without going broke. This marvelous shopping soiree is planned and executed with fabulosity in mind. Guests of the tour receive discounts in each boutique, and a part of the proceeds of the tour is donated to The Lupus Foundation.

This time of year marks my favorite season. It calls the sweltering summer months to an end and brings about brisk days and cools night. The trees become bare of the leaves that once brightened our spring and shaded summer months, they are left to weather the cold months, withering, free of the foliage that once adorned their limbs. For us, we have a amazing opportunity to pack on their layers of our favorite sweaters, skullies, parkas, trenches, and for some, a pair of long-johns. However, you decide to forge forward into winter, there are fashion choices to make you STYLISH yet still masculine and attractive to the eyes of those looking.

I have never been one to hop the “trend-wagon” by shopping according to what’s hot at the moment. I’ve always found myself looking for staple and Stylistic pieces that build a wardrobe versus items that are disposable or just in for a season. I guess I find it easy being a man and having limited choices when it comes to trends anyway. However, when it comes to the wonderful choices in womenswear, it’s virtually impossible not to follow suit or at least take a short ride. Designers have been revisiting trends for years now by reworking, sprucing up, and embellishing the looks that once flooded our streets and retail racks.
